Wacth: Pat Cummins brought up his 200th Test wicket with a peach of a delivery to West Indies’ captain Kraigg Brathwaite.

The wicket brought up a famous milestone for the Australia captain, as he became just the 19th Aussie to take 200 Test wickets, doing so at an average of 21.71. Only Glenn McGrath has taken 200 wickets for Australia at a better average and in history only five players, including McGrath, have done so. Those names are Malcom Marshall, Joel Garner, Curtly Ambrose and Fred Trueman. Elite company.

The wicket came at a key moment in the match as Brathwaite was proving to the Windies’ main point of resistance as he had faced over 150 balls for his 64 runs.

But his defences were breached when Cummins brought him forward with a length delivery that nipped away and kissed the top of off-stump. The delivery had shades of the ball that Cummins famously dismissed Root with at Old Trafford in the 2019 Ashes.

The Test in Perth is the first of a two-match series between Australia and the West Indies.
