Watch: Rovman Powell got an extra life after an inside edge saw the ball hit the stumps but the bails failed to dislodge during the second Australia-West Indies T20I.
Powell’s innings could have ended at 17 off 15 deliveries after an inside edge onto the pad rolled back and hit his off-stump. The batter swung across the line to tackle the slower delivery by Pat Cummins but only managed a thick inside edge that could have dislodge the bails. However, Cummins was unfortunate to not get the wicket as the bails stayed intact, much to Powell’s relief.
His stay lasted three more deliveries, though, as Cummins dismissed him with another slower ball, as West Indies sunk to 122-6 in 16.4 overs, chasing 179 to level the series. The visitors ultimately lost the clash by 31 runs.
