The Australia vs West Indies T20I series will begin on October 5 — here are the squad list for both teams ahead of the AUS vs WI 2022/23 series.

The West Indies team is flying out to Australia ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022 for two Twenty20 Internationals against the hosts. The two teams will meet at the Carrara Stadium in Gold Coast on October 5, and at The Gabba in Brisbane on October 7. Following that, the West Indies will play two warm-up matches, against the UAE on October 10 and against the Netherlands on October 12, while Australia will play their lone warm-up match against India, on October 17.

Australia had left out David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Mitchell Starc, and Marcus Stoinis – all of whom are part of the T20 World Cup squad – for their three-match T2oI series in India in September. While Warner had been rested, the other three had been injured. While Warner, Marsh, and Starc all returned, Stoinis will take time to heal. Following an impressive tour of India, Cam Green has been retained in the squad. Green is not part of Australia’s World Cup squad. On the other hand, Australia have left out Kane Richardson and Ashton Agar.

West Indies, on the other hand, will field the same squad as the World Cup. A last-minute exclusion – from both units – has been of Shimron Hetmyer, who missed the flight. The West Indies have replaced him with Shamarh Brooks.
