Chasing 141 for a win, Gloucestershire were in trouble at 45-4 when left-handed Ben Charlesworth smacked a full-length delivery from leg-spinner Mason Crane towards the right of Marnus Labuschagne at long-on.
In a display of exceptional athleticism, Labuschagne sprinted towards the ball, dived full-stretch and extended his right hand just as it was dying on him. What seemed an attempt to stop the ball from reaching the boundary with a leaping save turned out to be a fantastic catch as the ball stuck on his palm merely inches away from the ground.
Another angle of the catch showed how brilliant the effort indeed was. Quick to move, Labuschagne ran quickly in the direction of the ball and timed his movement to perfection to pluck out an absolute screamer. He was seen running towards his teammates with disbelief on his face as the cricket viewers were left in awe.
Gloucestershire, however, went on to win the clash despite being 90-7 at one stage, with Jack Taylor’s 48-ball 70 taking them close and Josh Shaw sealing the game with a six on the last delivery.
