Vidarbha batter Karun Nair continued his golden form in the 2024-25 domestic season, slamming an unbeaten 88 off 44 balls to help his side to a record total in the second semi-final against Maharashtra.
At the Kotambi Stadium, Maharashtra skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad put Vidarbha in to bat after winning the toss. Their start was sedate, making it to the end of the Powerplay with score at 49-0.
Thereafter though, openers Dhruv Shorey and Yash Rathod began to accelerate the scoring – the team 100 came up in 18.2 overs, and the 150 in 27.1 overs as both men scored half-centuries. They didn't stop there either, eventually putting on 224 for the first wicket before Rathod was bowled by Satyajeet Bachhav for 116, and Shorey followed suit four overs later for 114.
