Haris Rauf bowls miserly, match-winning spell against Trent Rockets

Rauf has had a fantastic time at the 2024 men's Hundred so far. In his first game of the season for Welsh Fire, he took 3-20 off 17 balls and almost bowled them to victory while defending a low total of 98. In the second, against Trent Rockets, he was able to get the result he wanted for his team.

This time defending 130, Rauf was tasked with bowling the final set of five deliveries. The Rockets needed nine to win and had three wickets in hand, with Imad Wasim on strike. Although Rauf didn't nail his yorkers, he was still good enough to concede only four runs, one of which was a bye, and finish with figures of 2-15 from 20 balls.

Imad Wasim follows tight spell with golden duck

Imad Wasim's fortunes with bat and ball have been inversely proportional to each other at The Hundred so far. From three innings, he has managed to score just six runs off 11 balls, while four innings have fetched him six wickets with the ball.

In his latest game, against his country-mate Rauf's team, Wasim delivered an economical spell of 2-23 off his 20 balls in the first innings, taking the wickets of Joe Clarke and Jonny Bairstow, but wasn't able to take his team over the line with the bat as he was dismissed by Rauf for a golden duck in the last set.

Usama Mir's all-round show not enough for Manchester Originals

The only other Pakistani currently active in The Men's Hundred 2024 is Mir. His previous game was on August 1, his third (and best) of the season for Manchester Originals so far.

In a short cameo, he scored 11 off seven in the first innings before being hit-wicket, while with the ball, he conceded only 10 off his 15 balls and took the wicket of James Vince. It wasn't enough, however, as Southern Brave chased down a target of 117 with ease. So far, Mir has one wicket from three innings, having gone at 1.35 runs per ball, and scored only 13 runs from 11 deliveries.

Mohammad Amir's 3/24 against Toronto Nationals goes in vain

Amir has been shuttling across leagues and tournaments lately. His latest stop has been the GT20 Canada, where he has played six games for Vancouver Knights already. In the latest of those, played against Toronto Nationals on Saturday (August 3), Amir took 3-24, dismissing Colin Munro, Roston Chase, and Mohammad Nawaz. But it wasn't enough as the Knights fell 19 short in their run-chase of 128. From six games, Amir currently has six wickets at an economy of 5.24.

Mohammad Nawaz's tight spell of 2-18 takes Toronto to victory

The left-arm spinning all-rounder made crucial contributions with both bat and ball in his side's victory against Vancouver Knights on Saturday (August 3). His 14 off 16 at No.6 wasn't a flashy knock, but was important in the context of a low-scoring game. He then bowled a spell of 2-18 from his three overs, taking the wickets of Richie Berrington and Sandeep Lamichhane, eventually helping his side to a 19-run victory.

Iftikhar Ahmed fails to have an impact in drubbing of Bangla Tigers

Iftikhar made 19 off 17, batting at No.6 in Bangla Tigers Mississauga's latest match against Brampton Wolves on Saturday (August 3), where they were bundled out for 79 before the Wolves chased it down in 11.2 overs. From five games in the tournament so far, Ahmed has made 112 runs at an average of 28, but his strike rate has just been a run-a-ball, while with the ball, he has conceded 10.66 runs per over, having taken only one wicket.

Asif Ali's struggles continue with a duck in a losing cause

The Pakistan finisher fell for a second-ball duck off Romario Shepherd in Vancouver Knight's clash against Toronto Nationals, as his side failed to chase down 128. This was Ali's fourth outing with the bat in GT20 Canada 2024. His last knock against the Brampton Wolves - 36 off 17 - has been his only double digit score so far in this season as his overall tally reads 42 runs at an average of 14 and strike rate of 155.55.
