Watch: Nat Sciver-Brunt hit four successive sixes off the last four balls of the match against London Spirit to help Trent Rockets register a fine win in the 2023 Women’s Hundred competition.
Chasing 125 for their first win of the competition, Trent Rockets lost quick wickets and were reduced to 29-3 before Sciver-Brunt and Fran Wilson came together for a 51-run stand. However, two quick wickets in the space of five balls for two runs added the pressure back on the side, with Trent now needing 42 in 25 balls with five wickets in hand.
With 35 needed off the last 20 balls, the pressure was well and truly on, but Joanne Gardner released the shackles with a four and a six before taking a single to put Sciver-Brunt on strike. She needed only four more hits to wrap up the game, hitting four maximums, all towards deep mid-wicket, to take her team to a memorable win.
Batting on 57 off 37 before she started her onslaught, Sciver-Brunt eventually ended with 81* in 41 at a strike rate of 197.56.
