Watch: Punjab Kings’ Arshdeep Singh and Vaibhav Arora indulged in a comical run-out off the final ball of their innings against Delhi Capitals, with the former being dismissed at the striker’s end.

Mustafizur Rahman bowled the final over of the innings for the Delhi Capitals. He bowled an excellent yorker just outside off stump which Arshdeep swung at and missed. The tailender then decided to take a stroll down the track with his partner not at all interested in the single. Rishabh Pant jogged up to the stumps and whipped off the bails to cap off a miserable innings for the Punjab Kings.

The run-out, apart from leaving those watching perplexed, also evoked an interesting reaction from the commentators. Simon Doull, who was on commentary, remarked, “I think the conversation was around should we run for anything and then he forgot what he (Arora) said”.

Mayank Agarwal started off briskly for the Punjab Kings but they lost wickets in a heap, crumbling to 92-8 at one stage. Their lower order batters ultimately crawled their way up to 115. The Capitals rode on David Warner and Prithvi Shaw’s belligerent opening stand and cruised to a nine-wicket victory.
