This six was hit in the 11th match of the season, played between Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings at Brabourne stadium, Mumbai. CSK had taken an early advantage in the game, getting the wickets of Mayank Agarwal and Bhanuka Rajapaksa to leave PBKS reeling at 14-2. Livingstone, walking in at number four, decided to take the attack to the opposition. He hit Mukesh Choudhary for a six and a four in the third over, before tearing into the left-armer in the fifth over.
He took a length ball and deposited it deep into the stands beyond the deep midwicket boundary. This was the longest six of IPL 2022.
“That’s going to be the longest of the tournament, isn’t it?” said Simon Doull on commentary. “108 meters.”
Livingstone didn’t stop there and continued attacking the young bowler, with 26 runs coming off the fifth over. Livingstone eventually finished with a 32-ball 60.
Livingstone is famed for his massive hits, having hit one of the biggest sixes of all time against Pakistan last summer.
