Opening for Rajasthan Royals, Buttler, who’s collected 272 runs in five innings prior to the game against KKR, continued his stellar form, making his fourth fifty-plus score in the tournament, reaching his half-century in 29 deliveries. His innings included a huge 100-metre hit over the boundary rope in just the third over of the innings, eventually converting into his second hundred of this season.

The second ball of the Umesh Yadav over saw Buttler get his front foot out of the way before whacking a length ball over wide long-on, with Simon Doull, the on-air commentator, exclaiming “Into the carpark!”

The opener combined with Devdutt Padikkal to score 97 for the first wicket in 9.4 overs. He continued the charge until the 17th over, finishing on 103 off 61 balls.

Buttler currently holds the Orange Cap, awarded to the highest run-scorer of the season, in 2022.
