Rhodes, the current fielding & batting coach of Punjab Kings, had previously been associated with Mumbai Indians across a nine-year stint. The South African joined Mumbai as their fielding coach in 2009 and was a pivotal member of the support staff until 2017, after which he parted ways, joining the Punjab setup in 2020.

The 52-year-old was up against his former franchise on Wednesday, and the post-match scenes turned into a reunion of sorts. During the customary handshake after the game that Punjab won, Rhodes came up in front of Sachin Tendulkar, who is a part of the support staff for the five-time champions. The 52-year-old Rhodes first shook hands with the Master Blaster before bowing down to touch his feet, much to the amusement of Tendulkar.

The 48-year-old Tendulkar hilariously pushed side Rhodes, who kept going after his feet, with both cricketers soon breaking into laughter before embracing each other.

Mumbai Indians slumped to their fifth consecutive loss after going down by 23 runs against Punjab, and are the only team without a win in the edition thus far.
