Mumbai Indians, five-time champions, will be heading into IPL 2022 eyeing another title: here’s the full squad list, team news, replacements, injury updates and coaching staff for MI ahead of season 15 of the Indian Premier League.
MI are the most successful side in the IPL, having won the tournament in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020.
The IPL 2022 auction gave Mumbai a chance to build on their existing core of players and bring in newer options to bolster their depth. Ahead of the auction, they retained Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Kieron Pollard, also bringing back Ishan Kishan in the auction as the most expensive player this time at INR 15.25 crore.
Apart from bringing back Kishan, the side acquired the services of Dewald Brevis, considered by many as the next South African superstar. Jofra Archer was also picked by the franchise, but won’t be available until 2023, owing to his ongoing rehabilitation after a long-standing elbow injury.
