Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Harshal Patel was involved in a war of words with Riyan Parag of Rajasthan Royals after the end of the first innings during an IPL 2022 clash between the two sides.

Parag, who made his highest IPL score of 56* against RCB to salvage a faltering innings, got into a heated exchange with the RCB quick after the end of RR’s innings. Parag smashed Harshal for 18 runs in the 20th over, including hitting two sixes with of those maximums coming off the last ball of the innings. He was seen walking off the field at the end of the over but stopped before turning around to face Harshal, seemingly reacting to something that had been said in his direction. The duo were then seen taking part in an animated exchange of words , with Harshal walking towards the 20-year-old even as a member of the RR support staff tried to get in the way, and separate the two opponents.

However, he was unsuccessful as Harshal pulled away from him towards Parag and seemingly gestured ‘what?’ with his hands before the batter walked off.

Parag came in to bat at No.6, after RR had slumped to 68-4 after 9.3 overs, and went on to take control of the innings. His knock of 56* in 31 balls had three fours and four sixes. Harshal ended the day with figures of 1-33, picking up Trent Boult’s wicket.
