KKR won their third IPL title, having won it before in 2012 and 2014. The final was perhaps the most one-sided in the tournament’s history. The Shreyas Iyer-led team restricted Sunrisers to 113, the lowest-ever total in an IPL final, before gunning it down with panache in 10.3 overs.

Elated by his team’s dominant victory, team co-owner Shah Rukh Khan urged his side to recreate Rana’s trademark flying kiss celebration while standing on the podium.

In a viral video, Khan, fondly called SRK by his fans, can be heard saying,” The whole team has to stand with me, and I will say three, two, one and everyone will have to do this.”

After that, Rana hugged and lifted him, revealing he had a fever last night.

It’s worth noting that Rana was penalised for giving a flying kiss send-off to Mayank Agarwal during a league match against Sunrisers earlier. Another Code of Conduct breach against Delhi Capitals led to his one-match ban.

In the final, he got rid of Nitish Kumar Reddy (13) and the dangerous Heinrich Klaasen for 16, ending with 2-24 off his four overs. He picked up 19 wickets in 13 games, the second most for KKR after Varun Chakaravarthy’s tally of 21.
