Pant put on a powerful display in the nets this week as he gears up for his much awaited IPL return. In a series of videos of a Delhi Capitals net session in Vizag ahead of their first match of the 2024 IPL against Punjab Kings, Pant was seen finding his stride after over a year on the sidelines.
Facing balls from a dog-thrower, Pant heaved into the leg side, striking what would’ve been an enormous six, and holding the pose in admiration of the shot.
In another video, Pant played a gorgeous drive along the ground through what would be the covers. Another shot showed him manipulate the ball in the air behind square on the leg side.
After he announced he was fit and ready to return to professional cricket this month, 14 months after his serious car accident, Pant admitted he was nervous about returning after so long on the sidelines. The videos showed little signs of nerves however, and gave an ominous sign of his potential coming back into the game.
