Dhoni has been with CSK ever since the tournament’s inception in 2008. Last year, his side beat Gujarat Giants in the final to become the champions for the fifth time, the joint-most by a side alongside Mumbai Indians. At 42, he reverted to his long-haired look resembling his initial days when he burst onto the scene in 2004 as a dashing striker of the ball. His hair is not the only thing that has taken fans on a ride of nostalgia, as Dhoni has been constantly sweating it out in the nets, practicing the big shots reminiscent of his vintage years.

Bowling from around the wicket, Bravo pitched a slower ball closer to a wide line, away from Dhoni’s reach – a tactic fast-bowlers have always used against the wicketkeeper-batter to restrict him at the death. Dhoni anticipated it and shuffled across to dispatch the delivery over mid-wicket. While Bravo put his hands on his head, seemingly in a banter, Dhoni rejoiced the stroke by holding both his hands up in the air along with his bat.
