RCB won the toss and elected to bowl first against LSG. After a good start by Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul, the hosts clawed their way back into the game courtesy of Glenn Maxwell, who first got rid of Rahul in the sixth over before keeping a leash on the scoring of the two left-handers, de Kock and Padikkal.
At the end of eight overs, LSG were 62-1 when Siraj came on to bowl his second over. The first two balls fetched a single and a dot before de Kock smashed him over long-on for a six. After a single off the fourth ball, Siraj ended up bowling three consecutive wides to Padikkal, one down the leg side and two over his head.
Just s frustrations grew among RCB fans, Siraj delivered another short ball, this time getting the top-edge off an attempted pull shot by Padikkal. The ball flew high in the air as wicketkeeper Anuj Rawat ran backwards to complete a good diving catch.
Padikkal was dismissed for six off 11, giving Siraj his first wicket of the night.
