A high-pressure match for both teams with playoffs berths on the line did not stop Virat Kohli and Ishant Sharma from being in their elements. Having spent their formative years together in Delhi, the two childhood friends teased each other several times during the match.

In the third over, Kohli seemingly addressed Ishant to place a slip after he edged a four past the wicketkeeper off the first ball of his second over. He hit the next ball for six over long on, and Kohli gestured in the direction of the ball, breaking into a smile at Ishant.

The lanky pacer, however, dismissed Kohli off the fourth delivery. There were no aggressive send-off: Ishant pushed Kohli jokingly, and both laughed as Kohli walked back for a 13-ball 27.

Later in the match, when Ishant walked out to bat with his team teetering at 135-9 while chasing 188, it was Kohli’s turn to poke fun.

RCB had the last laugh with a 47-run win to stay in the hunt for playoffs. Meanwhile, DC are still mathematically in contention for the top four.
