RR vs RCB (Eliminator): IPL 2024 team news

Rajasthan Royals had topped the points table until well into the second half of the league stage, but four defeats on the trot, followed by a washout forced them out of the top two. They will be facing Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who barged into the top four with six consecutive wins.

RR were hit by Jos Buttler’s departure. Kohler-Cadmore, his replacement, did not impress in his only outing. Samson and Jaiswal have been patchy of late, leaving Riyan with too much to do. Eyes will be on Riyan, yet again.

Hetmyer was declared fit ahead of the last match, but RR did not include him. His return will be a welcome boost for RR. If he does not recover, RR may replace him with one of Powell and Ferreira. Expect them to go in with Kohler-Cadmore and Boult as the other overseas cricketers, leaving the fourth slot open for the Impact Player.

RCB’s fast-paced batting in the second half of the league stage have turned the tables in their favour. Expect each of their batters to play their shots from the onset yet again, and their much-maligned bowling attack to live up to the challenge yet again.

Focus will be on Kohli and du Plessis, but Patidar, Karthik, Green, and Maxwell will be just as significant to keep the onslaught going for 20 overs.
