Moeen, playing only his second game of the 2024 IPL, was batting on 12 at 16 at one point against Lucknow on Friday before taking on the attack against Bishnoi in the 18th over of the innings.
After playing out the first ball for a dot, Moeen slog-swept a delivery that was close to the stumps, sending it over deep square leg for a maximum. Bishnoi went fuller next up, but Moeen got down on one knee for his second successive six. Moeen hit another six on the next delivery, smacking the shorter ball over long-off to race away to 30 in 19.
However, he was unable to carry on after he failed to get under the googly, giving a simple catch to Ayush Badoni at deep mid-wicket. His departure bought Dhoni to the crease, the wicketkeeper getting a deafening applause as he walked out.
