Most franchises have retained the core players with minor tweaks to maximise the potential of their squads. However, Gujarat Titans trading their skipper Hardik Pandya to Mumbai Indians for an undisclosed amount in addition to his contract fees of 15 crore INR was the most noteworthy move in the pre-auction transfer market. With a purse of 38.15 crore INR, they boast the highest spending limit at the IPL 2024 auction.

Meanwhile, the KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants have 19 members in their squad, including six overseas cricketers. LSG will head into the auction with a kitty of 13.15 crore INR, the least among all the teams and will look to fill in their six free slots, of which two are reserved for foreigners.

In an eventful all-cash deal, Royal Challengers Bangalore have traded in talented Australian all-rounder Cameron Green from the Mumbai Indians. In his 16 outings for Mumbai during his maiden season, Green racked up 452 runs at a strike rate of 160.28 while still averaging a 50.22 with the bat. Besides his batting pyrotechnics, he took six scalps, enhancing his reputation as an all-rounder.

RCB released big names like Josh Hazlewood, Harshal Patel and Wanindu Hasaranga, hoping to acquire value buys in the six available slots, including three overseas players.
