Gujarat Titans, champions of IPL 2022 and the defeated finalist in 2023, have already played 11 of their 14 matches of the league stage of the 2024 edition.
They next host the Chennai Super Kings on May 10 and the Kolkata Knight Riders on May 13, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, before rounding things off in Uppal with a clash against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on May 16.

For their last league match at home, against KKR, the GT cricketers will not take field in their usual dark blue shirts. Instead, they will don lavender jerseys, something Gujarat Titans had done in 2023 as well, for their home game against SRH.
The colour lavender is typically used to increase awareness against oesophageal cancer, but it is also used as an umbrella colour for all kinds of cancer.
Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) took the field in lavender in 2015 for the same reason. The cause was initiated by Yuvraj Singh, who had survived cancer to return to cricket and help set up the YouWeCan Foundation, a non-profit organisation that works towards cancer control in India.
“The Gujarat Titans are taking a stand against cancer, stepping onto the field donning special lavender jerseys for the second year in a row,” ran a statement from the franchise. “This gesture will serve as a reminder of the importance of early detection and access to quality care for improving outcomes in patients of cancer.”
With eight points from 11 games, Gujarat Titans are at the bottom of the IPL 2024 points table. However, they still have a slim chance of making it to the playoffs, unlike ninth-placed Mumbai Indians.
