Middle-order batter Bhanuka Rajapaksa is back in the Sri Lankan squad while batting allrounder Dasun Shanaka misses out. 22-year-old allrounder Chamindu Wickramasinghe maintains his spot in the T20I squad after making his debut against India. Speedster Dushmantha Chameera failed to make the cut due to an injury and has been out of action since July.
For West Indies, several senior players such as Shimron Hetmyer, Akeal Hosein, Andre Russel and Nicholas Pooran opted out of the series due to personal reasons. Allrounder Roston Chase will continue to be captain Rovman Powell’s deputy for T20Is.
