Sri Lanka have named their squads for the two T20Is and three ODIs against New Zealand, to be played in November 2024.
Sri Lanka named their ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming home series against New Zealand. The teams will play two T20Is at Dambulla on November 9 and 10, followed by three ODIs, at Dambulla on November 13 and at Pallekele on November 17 and 19. Charith Asalanka will continue to lead them in both formats.
For the ODIs, Sri Lanka have recalled former captain Kusal Perera, who has not played ODIs since the 2023 World Cup. However, he has played T20Is in the interim period. In fact, across his last six T20Is (three against each of India and the West Indies), he has made 204 runs at a strike rate of 144.
Sri Lanka had earlier clean-swept New Zealand in the two-match Test series. New Zealand lead the head to head 52-41 in ODIs, but the count flips to 17-6 in Sri Lanka’s favour on home soil. In T20Is, New Zealand lead 4-2 in Sri Lanka and 13-7 overall.
