Hasaranga out of last two ODIs
Hasaranga played a key role with both bat and ball in the first ODI, scoring 24 in the first innings before taking 3-58 in the second. However, he has since been ruled out of the remainder of the series.
An SLC press release a day before the second ODI stated: "He experienced pain in his left hamstring while delivering the last ball of his 10th over during the first ODI. An MRI performed on the player, following this, confirmed the injury."
Hasaranga has been replaced by 34-year-old leg-spinner Jeffrey Vandersay.
Pathirana, Madushanka to miss India ODIs
Pacers Matheesha Pathirana and Dilshan Madushanka will miss out on the ODI series against India due to injury. Pathirana suffered a mild sprain to his right shoulder while fielding during the last T20I, and Madushanka has sustained a Grade 2 injury to his hamstring in training.
Madushanka himself had made it to the T20I squad only after seamers Dushmantha Chameera and Nuwan Thushara had to pull out with injuries.
Sri Lanka have called up uncapped pacers Mohamed Shiraz and Eshan Malinga to the ODI squad, also naming Kusal Janith Perera, Pramod Madushan and Jeffrey Vandersay as standbys for the squad.
Broken finger rules Thushara out of India T20Is
According to an ESPNCricinfo report, the Sri Lankan pacer with a slingy action suffered a broken finger in his left hand during fielding practice on Wednesday (July 24) ahead of the start of the three-match T20I series.
Thushara made his T20I debut in February 2022, but has only recently become a major part of Sri Lanka's T20I bowing lineup. At the 2024 T20 World Cup, he took eight wickets in three matches and has a total of 19 wickets from 11 games.
Left-arm seamer Dilshan Madushanka has been named as Thushara's replacement.
Charith Asalanka will take over from Wanindu Hasaranga as Sri Lanka's T20I captain.

Dushmantha Chameera out with illness
Before Thushara, Chameera was the first Sri Lankan fast bowler to be ruled out of the series. On July 24, Sri Lanka's chief selector Upul Tharanga said that medical reports had confirmed bronchitis and a respiratory infection for Chameera, ruling him out of both the T20I and the ODI series. Fast bowler Asitha Fernando will take his place.
