SL vs IND 2024: When does the tour start?
The Indian team, under new head coach Gautam Gambhir, will embark on the tour of Sri Lanka that begins on Saturday (July 27).
Three T20Is, under the helm of captain Suryakumar Yadav, will be followed by three ODIs, which will mark the return of senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to the format for the first time since the heartbreaking finals defeat in the ODI World Cup last year.

SL vs IND, previous bilateral encounters
The two teams met in a bilateral series last year when Sri Lanka visited India. The hosts won convincingly, clinching five of the six games across formats.
India last visited Sri Lanka in 2021 with a young team as the senior players were gearing up for the Test series in England. Shikhar Dhawan led both the T20I and ODI squads as several fringe Indian players got an opportunity at the international stage.
Like India, Sri Lanka is dealing with new changes of their own, with Charith Asalanka taking over the leadership duties in T20Is after Wanindu Hasaranga resigned following an unimpressive T20 World Cup. The team exited in the first round, winning just one game against the Netherlands.

The T20Is will be played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium with all three matches to be played at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
