The schedule for India's upcoming white-ball tour to Sri Lanka has been announced. Here's the complete fixtures list for the SL vs IND ODIs and T20Is.
Three T20Is, as many ODIs
The teams will play three T20Is and as many ODIs in Sri Lanka in July and August, on the back of India's T20I tour of Zimbabwe. The majority of Sri Lanka's current T20I players are participating in the ongoing Lanka Premier League 2024, which follows their group-stage exit from the T20 World Cup.
The T20I leg will be played entirely in Pallekele, while the ODIs will be held in Colombo.
First series for new India, Sri Lanka head coaches
The India and Sri Lanka teams both have new head coaches in Gautam Gambhir and Sanath Jayauriya. India's tour of the island nation will act as the first assignment for the two former contemporaries. Gambhir took over from Rahul Dravid following India's T20 World Cup 2024 win, while Jayasuriya has been named interim head coach following Chris Silverwood's departure.

SL vs IND: When did India last tour Sri Lanka?
India last played a white-ball series in Sri Lanka three years ago. India won the 2021 series 2-1, while Sri Lanka won the T20Is 2-1. At that time, Dravid was India's interim head coach, a role he permanently took over from Ravi Shastri towards the end of that year.

Hardik, KL to lead?
Reports suggest that KL Rahul could lead the India ODI team in the absence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma for the tour, while Hardik Pandya might lead the T20I team following Rohit's retirement from the format.
Hasaranga steps down
Closely following the schedule announcement was news that Wanindu Hasaranga had stepped down as Sri Lanka T20I skipper.
