Former Sri Lanka captain Dimuth Karunaratne is playing his 100th Test match, which is also going to be his last. Here's the list of every cricketer to have played 100 or more Test matches.

Ahead of the second Test, Karunaratne announced that he would be retiring from international cricket after the Sri Lanka vs Australia Test series, and from all cricket soon after, with his last professional match being a three-day game in the SLC Major Club 3-Day Tournament for SSC against NCC, starting February 14.

How many players have featured in 100 Tests for Sri Lanka?

Karunaratne became the seventh Sri Lanka player to the 100-Test mark when he stepped onto the field at Galle. The first to the landmark was Sanath Jayasuriya, reaching there in 2005.

The most-capped Sri Lanka player in Tests is Mahela Jayawardene, with 149 matches to his name. The other Sri Lankans in this category are Kumar Sangakkara, Angelo Mathews, Chaminda Vaas, and Muttiah Muralidaran.

How many players have played 100-plus Tests?

A total of 81 players have appeared in 100 or more Test matches at the time of writing, including Karunaratne. England have produced the most 100-Test veterans so far (17), with Australia (15) and India (14) trailing them closely.
