Sri Lanka will play two Test matches in Bangladesh between March 22 and April 3 as part of the 2023-25 World Test Championship. With a PCT of 50 from two games, Bangladesh are fourth on the points table, while Sri Lanka are reeling at the bottom without a win from their two outings.
The rivalry between the two nations has been in focus lately. After Sri Lanka clinched the T20I series 2-1, they celebrated it with a pose mocking Angelo Mathews’ timed-out incident from the 2023 World Cup. Bangladesh then settled scores by winning the subsequent ODIs and unleashing their version of the ‘timed out’ celebration as a retort.

Both sides have locked horns in 24 Tests so far, with Sri Lanka having the upper hand with 18 wins. Bangladesh’s solitary Test victory against the island nation came in 2017 courtesy of Tamim Iqbal’s 49 and 82. Meanwhile, five matches have ended in a draw.
Their previous meeting in the format took place two years ago, the last time Sri Lanka toured the country. The first match ended in a draw before Asitha Fernando starred for Sri Lanka with 4/93 & 6/51, helping them to beat their opponents by 10 wickets to clinch the series 1-0.
