BAN vs SL: Where will the matches be held?

The first T20I will be played on March 4, followed by the second and the third matches on March 6 and 9, respectively. The Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, located in the eastern city of Sylhet, is the preferred venue for the three clashes.

Both sides have locked horns in 13 T20Is so far, with Sri Lanka winning nine times and Bangladesh prevailing on four occasions. Their last meeting in the format took place two years ago, during the 2022 Asia Cup held in Dubai. Kusal Mendis starred for Sri Lanka with his 37-ball 67, helping them beat Bangladesh by just two wickets in a game concluded in the 20th over.

BAN vs SL: Team news

The tourists will enter the series high on confidence after a recent 2-1 series victory over Afghanistan. However, they will be without the services of captain Wanindu Hasaranga, who is banned for the first two games for abusing an on-field umpire during the third Afghanistan T20I.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh last played a T20I series in New Zealand in December 2023 and drew 1-1. The hosts have given veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan a break from the series.

This series will provide them with an opportunity to test out their plans and strategies ahead of the big event next year.
