Sri Lanka will travel to Bangladesh for a two-match Test series from May 15, 2022 — here’s the full squad and team list of BAN v SL.
Bangladesh will host a two-match Test series against Sri Lanka from May 15 to May 27, 2022. While the first Test will be played in Chattogram, the second game is scheduled to be held at the Shere Bangla Stadium in Dhaka.
The hosts have a number of injury concerns ahead of the Test series. While Mehidy Hasan was ruled out of the first Test and is doubtful for the second match after suffering a hairline injury, Shakib Al Hasan, who was initially selected in the squad, will also miss the series after testing positive for Covid-19. Left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam’s participation is in doubt as well after the Bangladesh Cricket Board sent him to Singapore for an assessment of his abdominal issues.
Sri Lanka, on the other hand, will be without Pathum Nissanka, who is yet to recover from a back injury that he had suffered during the Tests against India. Oshada Fernando earns a recall to the squad, while the uncapped duo of Kamil Mishra and Dilshan Madushanka have also been selected.
The visitors have not selected Lahiru Thirimanne, Lahiru Kumara and Dushmantha Chameera in their side, with the latter currently playing for Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League.
The upcoming series against Bangladesh will also be Chris Silverwood’s first assignment as Sri Lanka head coach after he took up the role last month following his sacking from the position with England.
