Rain could play spoilsport on opening day of the second Test between South Africa and Sri Lanka in Gqeberha

The second Test between South Africa and Sri Lanka will be played from tomorrow (December 5) in Gqeberha. Here's the weather forecast for the Test.

South Africa enter the match 1-0 ahead. The 233-run win in Durban helped them displace Australia from the second position on the 2023-25 World Test Championship points table, making them one of the top contenders to reach the final.

The crucial victory was set up by Marco Jansen’s 11-86, the best figures by a South Africa left-arm pacer in Tests. Despite South Africa being bowled out for 191 in the first innings, Jansen’s 7-13 skittled Sri Lanka for a record low score of 42.

Then Temba Bavuma, the top scorer (70) in each innings, slammed a century (113), as did Tristan Stubbs, who scored a 221-ball 122. South Africa declared their second innings on 366-5, setting up a 516-run target. Sri Lanka fought hard before being bowled out for 282.
