The first day of the 2024 Durban Test between South Africa and Sri Lanka could be interrupted by rain

The first Test between South Africa and Sri Lanka got underway on November 27 in Kingsmead, Durban. Here's the weather forecast for the Test.

Both South Africa and Sri Lanka are in contention for the 2023-25 World Test Championship final. However, South Africa’s chances are more realistic after their 2-0 clean sweep in Bangladesh. Winning their last four matches at home – two each against Sri Lanka and Pakistan – should be enough to seal them a ticket to the summit clash. On the other hand, Sri Lanka can take inspiration from their 2-0 win in South Africa in 2019 to spice up the fag end of the current cycle.

Temba Bavuma returned from injury to lead South Africa, while the tourists are being captained by Dhananjaya de Silva. The match starts at 9:30 am local time.
