South Africa handed an ODI debut to Kwena Maphaka during the second game of the three-match series against Pakistan in Cape Town.
Maphaka, the 18-year-old left-arm quick who has been grabbing eyeballs all through the year with his pace and potential, now has an ODI cap to go with a T20I one.
Maphaka made his T20I debut against the West Indies in August this year, and was included in the Test squad against Sri Lanka just before the Pakistan series, but didn't get to play a game. Now, he has replaced Kagiso Rabada in the XI for the second ODI against Pakistan.

Maphaka becomes youngest South African to make ODI & T20I debuts
Born in 2006, Maphaka became youngest cricketer to play international cricket for South Africa when he made his T20I debut in August earlier this year.
Now, he has become their youngest ODI debutant as well, aged 18 years, 8 months and 11 days on the day of his debut. The only other 18-year-olds to have played international cricket for South Africa are Paul Adams (1995) and Victor Mpitsang (1999).

In fact, only five other left-arm fast bowlers from Full Member nations have played ODI cricket before turning 19 - Mohammad Amir, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Wasim Akram from Pakistan, Nuwan Zoysa from Sri Lanka, and Newman Nyamhuri from Zimbabwe (who also made his debut in the ongoing series between Zimbabwe and Afghanistan).
Maphaka has also been named in the Test squad to face Pakistan after the ODIs. If he gets a Test debut in the series, he will become the youngest South African debutants in all three formats.
