Sciver-Brunt arrived at the crease following the dismissal of Heather Knight at 103/2. Knight was the second wicket to fall for the visitors but Sciver-Brunt joined Maia Bouchier to forge an breathtaking partnership, putting on 174 runs in double-quick time.

The 32-year-old Sciver-Brunt completed her half-century in just 46 deliveries and just two overs later, she witnessed her teammate hit her maiden Test ton. Bouchier took 124 deliveries to score her century - the fifth-fastest player to get to this milestone in Tests.

After she got to the three-figure mark, Bouchier let Sciver-Brunt take charge and she quickly racked up boundaries to get to the 90s. Playing each ball on its merit, and rotating the strike, Sciver-Brunt pushed ball number 96 for a two, making her the fastest woman to score a Test century.

Sciver-Brunt’s second Test ton came in just 96 deliveries and it is the only instance of a women’s player scoring a Test century in less than 100 balls. The 32-year-old also bettered the previous record held by Chamani Seneviratna, who scored a century in 106 balls against Pakistan in 1998.
