Having won the first T20I of the series thanks to a half-century from Nat Sciver-Brunt, the England vice-captain once again passed 50 in Benoni. Danni Wyatt-Hodge put England on the front foot after they lost both Maia Bouchier and Sophia Dunkley early, building a 112-run partnership with Sciver-Brunt.

Having whacked 15 fours and one six, she was finally bowled by Nadine de Klerk for 78 off 45 deliveries. At the time of her dismissal, England were 127-3 with 7.4 overs left in the innings. Sciver-Brunt took over the scoring mantle. Having been on 36 off 23 balls when Wyatt-Hodge was dismissed, she finished the innings unbeaten on 67 off 43, with contributions from Heather Knight and Amy Jones.

England's total at the end of the innings was 204-4, their fourth-highest ever T20I total. Although it's their fourth-highest total, England have only scored more runs in a women's T20I innings on two occasions, against Pakistan in 2023 and South Africa in 2018. They scored 204-2 against Sri Lanka in 2019.

The total is also far from the highest score for any team in a women's T20I. Argentina women scored 427-1 against Chile in 2023. For the highest women's T20I total for a full member nation, Bangladesh scored 255-2 against the Maldives in 2019.
