Verma is also the second-youngest to hit a double century, barely a year older than 19-year-old Mithali Raj in 2002. She reached her double ton in style, hitting back-to-back sixes off Delmi Tucker to go from 187 to 199 before pushing the next delivery to the off side to reach the landmark. Three balls later, India crossed 400 runs.

It was the first time a player hit more than two sixes in a women's Test innings. She finished with eight.

Her innings ended in unfortunate manner, after a mix-up with Jemimah Rodrigues led to a run out in the 75th over. She walked back with 205 off 197, with 23 fours and eight sixes next to her name.
