Just two days after the T20I series between the two sides ended, India and South Africa will take on each other in a short ODI series, starting on Thursday. The first match will be played at Lucknow, before the action moves to Ranchi, where the second ODI will be played on October 9. The third and final match of the tour will be on October 11 and will be played at the Feroz Shah Kotla in New Delhi.

South Africa will be at full strength, unlike the hosts, who have their T20 World Cup stars departing for Australia on October 6. The Proteas will be led by Temba Bavuma and includes David Miller, Aiden Markram, Quinton de Kock, Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje amongst others.

The hosts, on the other hand, will be led by Shikhar Dhawan with Shreyas Iyer as the vice-captain. Rajat Patidar and Mukesh Kumar have been given maiden call-ups, while Rahul Tripathi is also in the side. He has been travelling with the team of late but is yet to make his debut. Ravi Bishnoi and Deepak Chahar along with Iyer are standbys in India’s T20 World Cup squad, but will travel to Australia after the series.
