Watch: James Anderson claimed yet another famous record at Old Trafford, becoming the leading wicket-taker in the history of international cricket among fast bowlers.

His 950th wicket – one more than Glenn McGrath’s 949 – came about in trademark style. South Africa resisted England up until the second new ball was due, but it took Anderson just two deliveries to extinguish any thoughts of a comeback.

Simon Harmer was the batter in his sights, and Anderson homed in from the end that bears his name, unleashing a devilish delivery, which moved in the air before deviating off the pitch to sneak through the bat-pad gap and crash into off-stump.

Anderson added another wicket in his next over, but was denied a five-for as Ollie Robinson removed Anrich Nortje for two.
