The one-day leg ended 1-1 after the third game was washed out in Leeds. The T20I matches will be held in Bristol, Cardiff and Southampton before the teams head to London for the commencement of the Test series. The first two T20Is will be played on back-to-back days. Matches are on July 27, 28 and 31.
South Africa will be led by David Miller, while Jos Buttler will be the England skipper, having taken over as white-ball captain following the retirement of Eoin Morgan.
The last time the two teams met in the format was in the T20 World Cup 2021, with South Africa winning the game to collect a consolation victory, eventually getting knocked out of the tournament due to an inferior net run rate. Overall, the record between these two sides has been fairly even: England have won 11 out of the 22 games, South Africa have won 10. One game ended in no result.
