Watch: David Warner fell first ball against South Africa thanks to a stunning short-leg catch from Khaya Zondo, during Day 1 of the Brisbane Test

Warner has been having a tough summer with the bat for Australia, with his duck in this innings taking his average to 20.40 for the Aussie season.

He has also recently been in the news regarding the leadership ban after he withdrew a bid before the second Test against the West Indies to have his lifetime suspension lifted.

He has also said in recent months that he does not expect to play the longest format for more than another 12 months.

All of this has combined to the left-handers batting coming increasingly under the spotlight, and the pressure on him intensified with a golden duck against South Africa.

Australia had bowled their visitors out for 152 in the first innings thanks to three wickets from Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon.

In reply, South Africa got off to the perfect start as Kagiso Rabada bowled a short-ball to Warner that the Aussie opener could only succeed in fending off to Zondo at short-leg who took an excellent catch.
