Since its launch in 2023, the SA20 has switfly become one of the most high-quality T20 franchise leagues in the world. Supported by investement from IPL owners, the league has been able to attract talent and fanbases from all over the world.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape have won both editions of the tournament so far, and will be eyeing a hat-trick of titles in the upcoming season. They will be in action on day one of the competition as they take on MI Cape Town in Gqeberha.

SA20 2025: Latest squad news

This season, the league has received an injection of star power – Kiwi duo Kane Williamson and Devon Conway will be in action for Durban's Super Giants and Joburg Super Kings after opting for casual playing contracts with New Zealand Cricket.

The likes of Chris Woakes, Jonny Bairstow, Matheesha Pathirana, Azmatullah Omarzai are also involved in this year's edition. England Test captain Ben Stokes was signed by MI Cape Town, but has been ruled out of the tournament with an injury. English pair Joe Root and Sam Hain will be part of the Paarl Royals, as will teenage South African speedster Kwena Maphaka and former India international Dinesh Karthik.
