Watch: Virat Kohli was clean bowled for six by Railways’ Himanshu Sangwan on day two of Delhi's Ranji Trophy clash today (January 31).
Kohli did not have a memorable return to the Ranji Trophy after almost 12 years. Playing for Delhi, Kohli walked out at No.4 after Yash Dhull’s wicket in the first session on Friday. He had a nervous start to his innings before settling down and stroking a fine straight drive for a boundary against Sangwan in the 28th over.
However, he departed on the very next ball. Kohli, looking to attack the bowler, took a step forward but he was unable to fend off an incoming delivery. The ball raced through Kohli’s bat-pad gap, sending the off-stump flying.
Kohli had not played in the previous round of the Ranji Trophy due to a neck niggle but was deemed fit for the ongoing game. The low score continued his poor red-ball form: Kohli has now made 91 runs in his last eight first-class innings at an average of 11.38.

Sangwan also dismissed Delhi opener Sanat Sangwan in his next over, bowling his off-stump as well.
Delhi, led by skipper Ayush Badoni’s 99, took a lead in the game after Railways were dismissed for 241 in their first innings.
