The second round of the 2024/25 Ranji Trophy season kicked off on October 18. Here are all the updates from day three.
Elite Group A
After resuming the day at 346-6, Tripura declared at 377-8. Manisankar Murasingh then took 6-52 to bowl Meghalaya out for 222. Tripura enforced the follow-on, and Meghalaya reached 3-0 in 2 overs by stumps.
Resuming on 80 overnight, Maharashtra captain Ruturaj Gaikwad made his way past the three-figure mark, eventually scoring 145. Sachin Dhas scored 98 and Ankit Bawne 101 as they made 388 to set Mumbai just 74 for victory.
Services slipped from 74-2 to 271 all out on day three, with Baroda's bowlers stepping up to the plate. Baroda then smashed the ball to all parts with Bhargav Bhatt promoted to open as a pinch-hitter, to declare at 134-1 in 14.4 overs. At stumps, Services made it to 3-0 in pursuit of 341 to win.
Odisha managed to take a narrow two-run first innings lead over Jammu & Kashmir on day three. In their second innings, J&K managed to take a 193-run lead by stumps, but a win seems unlikely.

Elite Group B
Andhra Pradesh were eventually bowled out for 213 in their first innings against Gujarat early on day three. They fared better following on, and by stumps had reached 203-4 to lead by 49 runs.
Rajasthan's bowlers stepped up to bowl Himachal Pradesh out for just 260, after they began the day at 147-2. Aniket Choudhary took five wickets, and left-arm spinner Manav Suthar four. Rajasthan then scored their required 26 runs in 5.2 overs for the loss of two wickets to secure victory.
Hyderabad were bowled out for 292 on day three, before Uttarakhand began batting again, building up a lead of 222 runs by stumps.
Vidarbha took a first-innings lead by bowling Puducherry out for 209 on day three. They were, however, reduced to 25-3 by stumps in their second innings.

- Vidarbha 283 (Yash Rathod 118, Gaurav Yadav 4-65) & 25-3 (Atharva Taide 11, Sagar Udeshi 2-9) v Puducherry 209 (KB Arun Karthick 49, Akshay Wakhare 3-50). Vidarbha lead by 99 runs.
Elite Group C
Uttar Pradesh began batting on day three after taking Haryana's final wicket. They made it to 267-6 by stumps, still trailing nearly 200 runs.
Starting their second innings on day three, Punjab made merry to score 265-3 by stumps, for a total lead of 335 thanks to opener Jaskaranvir Singh Paul's unbeaten century. A declaration appears imminent early on the final day.
For the third straight day, no play was possible in the Bengal-Bihar match due to rain and a wet outfield.
No play was possible on day three between Kerala and Karnataka in Alur due to the same.

Elite Group D
Delhi were up against it with the bat against Tamil Nadu, but they folded in disappointing fashion to crawl to 264-8 by stumps. The one glimmer of positivity for them was the return to form of Yash Dhull, unbeaten on 103.
Saurashtra batted on day three after Chhattisgarh declared at 578-7 at the Niranjan Shah Stadium. They made their way to 177-2 by stumps, still trailing with stalwarts Cheteshwar Pujara and Sheldon Jackson unbeaten on half-centuries.
Chandigarh managed a first innings lead of over 100 runs against Assam, before reducing them to 144-7 by the end of day three.
Starting the day on 19-1, Railways made it to 320-4 by stumps, thanks chiefly to the efforts of Mohammad Saif (113) and Vivek Singh (75).
