Elite Group A

On day two, Mumbai's Tanush Kotian continued his excellent form, picking up 4-61 to help bowl Baroda out for 290. But the defending champions were then bundled out for 214, Bhargav Bhatt starring with 4-53. Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer and Ajinkya Rahane all failed to make an impact.

Jammu & Kashmir opener Shubham Khajuria stole the show against Maharashtra, scoring 255 to help his side declare at 519-7. Rasikh Salam then struck early to leave Maharashtra one down at stumps.

Services made the most of being put in to bat by Meghalaya, reaching 402 thanks to Ravi Chauhan (113) and Rajat Paliwal (107) before Varun Choudhary took three wickets to leave Meghalaya five down by stumps.

No play was possible on day two between Tripura and Odisha, due to rain and a wet outfield.

Elite Group B

Gujarat's Manan Hingrajia scored 181 to help his side post 343. In response Hyderabad were left struggling at 222-7 by stumps as the Gujarat bowlers chipped away at regular intervals.

Himachal Pradesh's batters made history as all of the top four scored centuries, including Ankit Kalsi who converted his into a double ton. They declared at 663-3, before taking the wicket of Uttarakhand opener R Samarth.

Puducherry were eventually bowled out for 248 by Rajasthan. By stumps on day two, Rajasthan trailed by just 14 runs thanks to an unbeaten century from skipper Deepak Hooda.

Last season's finalists Vidarbha were blown away by Andhra Pradesh for just 118, with captain Akshay Wadkar's unbeaten 46 the only semblance of resistance. In reply, Andhra took a slim first-innings lead of 49 runs as Akshay Wakhare returned figures of 4-10. Vidarbha fared far better in their second innings, making it to 192-1 by stumps, with Atharva Taide unbeaten on 115.

Elite Group C

No play was possible between Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka on day two, due to a wet outfield.  

In Lucknow, UP seamer Yash Dayal responded to being dropped from India's Test squad by picking the three remaining Bengal wickets to bowl them out for 311. Skipper Aryan Juyal then led his side to 198-3, remaining not out on 90 at stumps.

Haryana managed to secure victory within two days against Bihar. Resuming on 184-7 after bowling their opponents out for 78 on day one, they put up 254, before skittling Bihar for 133 to win by an innings and 43 runs. 

Weather delays in Thiruvananthapuram meant only 38 overs of play were possible on day two between Kerala and Punjab, with Punjab finishing the day on 180-9. Aditya Sarwate and Jalaj Saxena took five and four wickets respectively.

  • Punjab 180-9 (Ramandeep Singh 43, Aditya Sarwate 5-59) v Kerala

Elite Group D

Jharkhand started the day on 247-3 against Assam, but eventually slid to 361 as Mukhtar Hussain picked up five wickets. Captain Ishan Kishan failed to make a real impact, scoring just 21. By the end of day two though, they had taken four Assam wickets and led by 252 runs.

Railways took an unlikely 33-run first-innings lead after being bowled out for 142. But they accelerated the game on day two, scoring 307 to set Chandigarh 341 for victory. Upendra Yadav was the star with a run-a-ball century. 

Chhattisgarh registered 343 against Delhi, even as Ayush Badoni picked up 4-43 with his part-time off-spin. In reply, Delhi managed to reach 117-4 by stumps on day two as captain Himmat Singh remained unbeaten on 50.

Tamil Nadu bossed day two in Coimbatore, bowling Saurashtra out for 203 before their batters took over. N Jagadeesan scored a century and B Sai Sudharsan 82 as they got to stumps with a 75-run lead and seven wickets in hand.
