Full List: Every International And Domestic Captain Virat Kohli Has Played Under

Virat Kohli made his Ranji Trophy comeback on Thursday (January 30), playing under captain Ayush Badoni for Delhi. Here are all the captains Kohli has played under in his professional career.

Playing in the tournament for the first time since 2012, Kohli attracted a throng of fans at the nets before he even got on to the pitch, and free entry meant the Arun Jaitley Stadium had over 15,000 spectators to watch him in action.

Delhi skipper Ayush Badoni won the toss and chose to field, meaning Kohli wouldn't be in action with the bat as soon as his fans might have hoped. But his side bowled Railways out for 241, before reaching 41-1 by the end of the day. Kohli is carded to bat next.

Badoni became the 23rd player to captain the India star in his professional career. The first to do so was Mithun Manhas, who led Delhi against Services on Kohli's List A debut in February.

Manhas was also in charge of the side in November that year, during Kohli's first-class debut against Tamil Nadu. Kohli's first T20 skipper was Virender Sehwag, for Delhi in April 2007. His first IPL captain was Rahul Dravid, in the tournament's first-ever match in 2008.

In Test and ODI cricket, Kohli made his debut under MS Dhoni, winning the 2011 World Cup with the same captain. In the shortest format, he debuted under Suresh Raina on a tour of Zimbabwe in 2010.

Current India head coach Gautam Gambhir captained Kohli in ODI cricket, as well as first-class and List A cricket for Delhi. Kohli's most recent Test match came under Jasprit Bumrah's captaincy, with his last ODI and T20I both under Rohit Sharma.
