Vidarbha beat Kerala in the final of the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy to become the sixth team to lift the trophy on three or more occasions.
Vidarbha were reduced to 24-3 after Kerala captain Sachin Baby won the toss and opted to field in the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy final in Nagpur. Danish Malewar top-scored with 153, while Karun Nair made 86 as MD Nidheesh finished with 3-61 and Eden Apple Tom with 3-102.
Kerala became 14-2 in response before Aditya Sarwate (79) led the rearguard act. At 324-6, they seemed set to take the vital first-innings lead, but Baby (98) fell on that score, and Kerala were bowled out for 342 against Darshan Nalkande (3-52), Harsh Dubey (3-88), and Parth Rekhade (3-65). The third of his wickets took Dubey to 69 wickets for the season – an all-time Ranji Trophy record.
Stumps were taken on day three after the Kerala innings. Vidarbha became 7-2 early on the fourth morning, but Malewar (73) and Nair (135) thwarted Vidarbha again. The teams agreed to a draw on the fifth afternoon, with Vidarbha on 375-9 (Sarwate 4-96). Vidarbha won on first-innings lead.

- Karnataka had played as Mysore; Vidarbha as Central Provinces and Berar; Rajasthan as Rajputana; and Uttar Pradesh as United Provinces. However, they had not won the Ranji Trophy under these names.
- The state of Haryana was created out of the state of Punjab in 1966. Both teams have subsequently won the Ranji Trophy, that too in the space of three years.
Vidarbha also became the sixth team to win the Ranji Trophy on at least three occasions. With 42 wins out of 89 editions, Mumbai (erstwhile Bombay) are the comfortable leaders in this aspect, but Vidarbha have had an excellent run of late.
Vidarbha won the Ranji Trophy in 2017-18 and 2018-19 (and won the Irani Cup in both seasons) in their first appearances in the semi-final. They missed out on the final for the next three editions (the Ranji Trophy was not held in 2020-21), but finished runners-up in 2023-24 before winning again in 2024-25.
