Shreyas Iyer has denied reports that he will miss Mumbai's upcoming Ranji Trophy clash due to a shoulder injury.

What transpired?

Late on Tuesday night, reports emerged that Iyer, looking to make a Test comeback, was ruled out of Mumbai’s upcoming Ranji Trophy match against Tripura from October 26. Initial reports in Cricbuzz stated that Iyer would miss the game due to a shoulder injury, which has since been updated to the player skipping the match as he “needed to rest his body: after several successive multi-day matches since the Duleep Trophy.

The report quotes Iyer as saying, “No matter whatever people think outside, I have to listen to my body because I know the amount of threshold I've carried over the last few years and based on that I'll be taking the right decision and I hope that my team will also back (me),” after his century against Maharashtra last week.

However, several accounts on social media started reporting about his shoulder injury, which seemingly did not please the player who decided to put an end to all speculations. He replied to a tweet about his shoulder injury: “Guys seriously let's do some homework before publishing news.”
