Karachi Kings suffered a dramatic collapse to win Friday’s (April 25) PSL 2025 match against Quetta Gladiators in Lahore.
Asking the Gladiators to field first, the Kings had a roaring start with Hassan cleaning up the top-order comprising Finn Allen (0), opposition captain Saud Shakeel (6 off 7 balls) and his predecessor Rilee Rossouw (10 off 9). Mohammad Nabi and Abbas Afridi also struck in quick succession to leave the batting side reeling at 69-5 in 8.4 overs.
A 34-ball 35 from Hassan Nawaz, Pakistan's fastest T20I centurion and Faheem Ashraf (43 off 27) tried to consolidate the innings, but in the end, the Gladiators could only register 142 on the board, skittled out with three balls left in the innings. Hassan led the bowling effort with his 3-33 in 3.3 overs. His performance took him to the top of the wicket-takers’ list this season.
The Kings didn’t include Kane Williamson in their batting line-up, despite him being available after missing out on the initial five matches. They suffered an early jolt in the run-chase after losing captain David Warner for a run-a-ball four in the first over of the day. Tim Seifert (47 off 26) and No.3 batter James Vince (30 off 29) tried to resurrect the innings.

Karachi Kings implode to loss with 50 needed off 50
The Kings were 92-2 after 11.2 overs and then suffered a drastic collapse, getting reduced to 115-8 in the 18th over. Hassan, from No.9, wielded his willow to score an unbeaten 13-ball 24 comprising three fours and a six. 17 runs were needed of the last over, and Hassan’s cameo brought them close but not enough as they fell short by five runs.
Neither side moved on the points table – the Kings held second behind unbeaten Islamabad United, while the Gladiators stayed fifth.
