Naseem Shah of Islamabad United bowled a peach to clean bowl David Warner of Karachi Kings early into a PSL 2025 game in Karachi.
Islamabad United barely broke a sweat to chase 129 against hosts Karachi Kings with six wickets and 17 balls in hand. The win helped them stretch their streak to four wins in four matches. Four points clear of the other sides, they are going to hold on to the top spot for some time.
Warner and Tim Seifert scored four off the first over, bowled by Ben Dwarshuis, after IU captain Shadab Khan won the toss and opted to field. At the other end, Naseem began with a wide outside the off stump. He adjusted his line immediately, and Warner swung at the next ball and missed.
Naseem pitched the ball around the off-stump line and jagged back in. Warner, presumably under the impression that it would leave him, played outside the line off the ball. The ball zoomed through the gate and knocked the bails off their grooves.
After Jason Holder (2-39) soon bowled James Vince, Seifert abandoned his aggressive self and dropped anchor to make a 37-ball 30, while Saad Baig got a 17-ball 20. Naseem returned to have Khushdil Shah caught behind down the leg side, and finished with 2-29. With Shadab (4-0-17-2) and Imad Wasim (4-0-17-1) keeping the stranglehold on, the KK innings could not find any momentum until Abbas Afridi hit three sixes in his unbeaten nine-ball 24.
Sahibzada Farhan (30 in 18 balls), Azam Khan (30 in 31), and Shadab (47 in 40) then completed an easy chase.
